Just a little note to mark the beginning of my Zettelkasten journey. While I’ve always had a commonplace book of sorts, all my life, and I’ve always taken tons of notes on books I pay attention to, I’ve never really been able to come up with a way of writing what I think syntopically. Or I can, but its like pulling teeth. Writing what I learnt in Antifragile, took months, and a lot of cursing through gritted teeth. But I want to. I really do. I so want to write about what I learn and read and then intermingle them all together and put my bundle of thoughts down. ...

I’ve been in this rut all year, and I don’t know how to get out of it. So I’m declaring thought / newsletter bankruptcy. I don’t know how to share what I collected, so I’ll just put a set of links down here to all of them. This is all the work/tech stuff. And this is all the other, personal / life stuff! Enjoy! Update: fixed Github link The little script I wrote in 2020, to get me my daily poetry fix, died a couple of months ago. Life got in the way of me, figuring out what was wrong. I finally got around to it today. A little bit of peeking under the hood revealed that Cloudflare did not like me using the Python Requests library to check the Poetry Foundation page. Or maybe it just did not like the useragent string that Requests gave it. I was in no mood to go down that rabbit hole, so I just went looking for modern alternatives to Requests. Found HTTPX.1 and switched over to it.2 And then while I was at it, replaced PyRSS2Gen with FeedGenerator. ...

Don’t quite know when it began, but probably a sign of getting old 😂 I get nasty burps every time I take my codliver oil capsules now. Solution1 Buy capsules with what they call, an enteric coating on them. (Expensive! Not for me!) or Put your existing bottle in the freezer and pop one an hour before lunch. The combination of cold capsule ingestion, followed by its smothering by food an hour later, has fixed the burps for me! Not a doctor. This ain’t medical advice. Try at your own risk! ↩︎ ...
